David Ponder and Michael Sykes began singing together 30 years ago, in Fayetteville NC. David is the son of a Baptist minister and Michael’s grandfather was a Church Of God pastor. David began singing in his father’s church at the age of 5 while Michael was the pianist for his grandfather. Both being raised in the local church and grounded in the truth of God’s love makes for a dynamic partnership. They have both been very involved in the production and technical side of many great gospel music recordings through the years. Working with The Gaither Vocal Band, The Oak Ridge Boys, Dottie Rambo and Mark Lowry to name a few, Michael is the recipient of 14 Dove awards and has received several Grammy Nominations. They were members of the well-known group Ponder, Sykes and Wright for many years.
